Nano Energy Materials (NEM) research group was founded in 2011 in School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST). We currently have 6 faculty members, including 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 2 assistant professors, and about 30 graduate students. Our group focuses on materials research for all-solid-state thin-film lithium batteries, Li+/Na+ ion batteries, supercapacitors, and new energy storage systems. We intensively explore new materials (electrodes and electrolytes) and device fabrication for high-performance all-solid-state thin-film batteries. We are aiming at developing the state-of-art solid-state thin-film batteries with high energy density, high safety, long cycle life, wide operation temperature range, low self-discharge, and high rate capability to achieve the wide applications in microelectonic devices. We are also developing high-performance and low cost electrode materials for aqueous and nonaqueous rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors that will be used in consummable electronics, electric vehicles, and smart grids.
